Back to School Strong

August means back to school shopping, but many in San Diego are struggling to provide even the most basic supplies for their kids, let alone help with homework. Your time and donations can help kids go back to school strong.

School Supplies

Bags are available for school supply donations through August 13th and your monetary donations will provide backpacks to help refugee and immigrant children, children in foster care, and kids from families experiencing homelessness to go back to school strong!

Supplies needed for each backpack:

Pencil box   Pack of Pencils   Pack of Erasers   Pack of Stick Glue   Pack of Colored Pencils   Box of Crayons

Pencil Sharpener  Scissors  2 Spiral Notebooks   Reusable Water Bottle

Our affiliates offer weekly tutoring programs providing holistic academic support to under-served children in our community. Tutoring programs start in mid September. Morning, afternoon and evening options are available.  Mentoring opportunities are also available for building relationships with high school students and young adults, including one-time and ongoing time frames.  On Sunday, August 13th at Redeemer Church, we’ll have representatives onsite from San Diego Refugee Tutoring, Casa de Amistad, and A Step Beyond. Stop by to learn more about tutoring opportunities and consider helping an at-risk student.
