You can offer hope!
Below are some organizations and links we would recommend to consider serving in this season.
About the Event
We have a significant need for volunteer tutors who are interested in supporting recently resettled refugees and immigrant students with math and physics. We are currently serving a roster of 300 student-athletes and have anywhere between 60-100 students attending our Tues/Thurs tutoring space at Crawford High School from 4 pm-8 pm. Here is a flyer for more information. Contact Alec to get connected.
Voices for Children
Voices for Children is looking to recruit volunteers from churches to become Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASAs). Their primary role is to speak up for abused and neglected children in court. Click here for more information.
San Diego Rescue Mission
They’re looking for women willing to spend time during the day with the women/children staying in our Emergency Shelter, Monday through Friday. Contact Alec to get connected.
Jewish Family Services
Migrant shelter for incoming asylum seekers (families and individuals who have received qualifications and shown proof that they have been persecuted and are now awaiting an official trial). Sign up here directly to volunteer in the following areas:
On-Call Airport/Greyhound Guide
Shelter Courier (Contactless) – Delivering essential goods to asylum-seekers in hotels.
San Diego Food Bank
The San Diego Food Bank has continued need to serve our city. Please consider registering as a volunteer and then going to a shift at a location near you.
The Lucky Duck Foundation
There are 4,000+ unsheltered homeless individuals on the streets with scarce access to food and water. This initiative provides food and water to outreach workers who distribute it to unsheltered individuals to provide nourishment and water and to ultimately help end their homelessness. Sign up on one of their many shifts here
Thank you for serving our most vulnerable neighbors!
