This Event took place on Wednesday, March 9th. Here is a recording of the event.
Come hear from Matt Soerens, U.S. Director of Church Mobilization at World Relief, and Jane Register, Church Mobilizer for World Relief SoCal, as well as personal testimony from a refugee community member. About the Event
Let’s Learn and Respond
In the past few months, after the horrific events that took place in Afghanistan, many of us across the U.S. have been thinking a great deal about immigration and refugees. This is especially true in hub cities like San Diego where a large portion of Afghan refugees are landing. The question lies before us: how should we respond? While some have been engaging with this question for years and some are just starting to consider it, we all need the space to learn and respond together to our call as Christians. Come join us for a conversation on immigration and hear specifics about what’s happening in San Diego.
Interact afterward with response tables from Hope For San Diego and World Relief, and art pieces from Art Inspiring Change, all while enjoying sweets and drinks from the MAKE Project, a local program that equips refugees with skills and resources to adapt and thrive in their new home.
OPTIONAL “Entry Fee”: Bring a NEW twin comforter for an Afghan family!
Following county mandates and Makers Church policy, masks are optional at this event.
