Information Session

Part of

Learn and Respond

An urgent need for Afghan families is helping family members join them in the U.S. We’re publicizing this opportunity because it’s little known and requires very little on our part to make a difference for those still facing danger in Afghanistan.
Since the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, many Afghan nationals have been fleeing the country, especially those who have provided aid/service to the U.S. government. Many of the Afghan refugees who have made it to San Diego have family members facing threats and immediate danger in Afghanistan. The quickest way for them to get to safety is through an immigration option called “humanitarian parole” (HP). A key component of HP is sponsorship: someone in the U.S. will financially support the applicant until the end of the HP period (no later than March 23, 2023) if s/he cannot support him/herself.

Many people want to help, but they find the idea of becoming a financial sponsor scary.

This information session with an experienced immigration attorney, will tell you exactly what is required to sponsor an Afghan in need and provide an opportunity to ask your questions.

Becoming an HP sponsor is not as intense/scary as you might think and may not require any financial assistance.

Please complete the form below and we will send you a link to the event.
